Pinterest Fever!
I have been waiting all year to make this halloween door decoration.Justin was all on board and ready for the challenge. We purchased all of the
recommended materials with only two stops - Walmart and Party City. After supper
we listened to the Italian cafe - courtesy of Pandora, and began the project.
A bottle of wine and 90 minutes later, the door turned out exactly as the Pinterest photo and I was beyond happy. Then, as with most things, life kicked in. In Georgia, we are desperate for any rain that we can possibly get and tonight was no exception. Completing this project and listening to the rain was absolutely lovely, at least, until we closed the door. After 10 minutes, the crepe paper had already started to droop. By morning it was not pretty and really sad. It was apparent that the decor would never make it another 29 days...
But, being the (crazy) person that I am, we approached it from a southern angle. We began with a black, plastic table cover that we taped to the entire door. Next, we used cheese cloth that I cut into various width strips. Justin once again was willing to make my dream a reality and patiently weaved and attached the strips to the door with packing tape. The result was rustic and absolutely incredible. I am so happy with the ease to construct this product.
Happy Halloween Ya'll!!
